RECALLS

Below are some of the latest recalls of children’s toys and recreational products— examples of the kinds of safety issues spotlighted at W.A.T.C.H.’s Toy Safety and Summer Safety Conferences. Hazards include choking, fire, strangulation, battery and magnet ingestion, as well as other serious risks that can lead to injury or even death. Note: This is not a full list of recalls.   • Alpaca Plush Toy (small parts choking hazard)
  • Scooters (fall hazard—injuries reported)
  • Holiday Glow Light Stick Bracelets (skin irritation hazard)
  • Generic Magnet Ball Sets (ingestion hazard)
  • Evermore Surprise Eggs (lead toxin — violates federal ban)
  • Shierdu Hundred Cactus Balls (small parts choking hazard)
  • Party Favors Lite-Up Torches and Laser Pointers (risk of serious injury or death from battery ingestion)
  • Play Kitchen (strangulation hazard — one death reported)
